The daily function of our being is to be fully cognizant.

With ever present tenderness,

We arrive in the moment with a loving kind of awareness.

Over and over again is ripe,

All that matters is one step at a time,

The ladder of wakefulness we continually climb.

Deeper and deeper, do we attend into full alertness,

Already inherent in us like a brilliant furnace.

The inescapable beauty we long for is already here,

Nothing beyond is unquivering dear.
